About
Clean Clubs was an idea that formed from a recurring problem that I found myself running into on the course after the world began to reopen post-COVID. I would load my golf bag into the car, head over to my favorite local course, and enjoy an afternoon of golf… until I had a dirty club and only a dry towel to clean it with.
I started brainstorming a solution to keep my clubs clean with no resources available on the course other than what I brought with me. I knew I had to develop a reservoir that could hold enough solution to get me through 18 holes, easily attach to my bag without adding much weight, and hold a towel for easy use. Thus, Clean Clubs was born.
After 18 months of designing and producing my own prototypes with clay, hand-made resin molds, and enduring many failures and a few successes, I realized that our local College could be a great resource. With the help of Mohawk Valley Community College and their “Fab-Lab” program, Clean Clubs went from a ball of clay to a product that solves the problem that I put so much time and effort into solving. With a 12 oz reservoir, an easy-to-use button dispenser, a clip attachment, and a microfiber towel, our clubs will stay consistently clean for your best rounds yet.
For the past 30 years, I have served as an Executive Director of a small Non-profit organization in Rome, NY. Besides the fact that I love the game, I use golf for a time of prayer, meditation, and focus to manage stress after interacting with women and children who have been horribly abused, homeless people with special needs, suicides, and overdoses. Most importantly, golf is a way to protect my children. They need their Dad to come home with a clear perspective. So, my commitment to my family is they would never feel the effects of my being immersed in a segment of the population that is completely in a state of chaos, dysfunctional, and frankly, heartbreaking. Every day is a roller coaster of emotions. One minute we are celebrating with a child who earned an “A” on a test then, a moment later someone overdosed and died in the woods, under a bridge, or in a car.
The outlet that has helped me cope with witnessing daily tragedy has led me down the path to creating a product that can be utilized and enjoyed by golfers all around the world.
